 On April 6th Marshall Marine’s first Sakonnet 23 was launched. It was blowing 25+, so the first sail had to wait until the next day when we discovered that it is as fun and nimble as we thought it would be. We piled 3 adults and 4 kids in it over the first weekend and she still handled like a dream, with room for everyone. Lots of fun! We will have this boat here at the yard available for test sails if you think you’d like to try it out.
Marshall Marine turns 50 years old next year!!! We are looking for ways to make our 2012 rendezvous special. It is usually held the last weekend in July, which would make it Saturday the 28th, 2012 and we’d love to see 50 boats on the line. So mark your calendars now. If you have any suggestions to make it a memorable event, let me know (Kristen@marshallcat.com). Think we can get 50 boats into a sunflower raft?????
Useppa Island, FL has announced the dates for their next rendezvous. This is a not to miss event. Geoff and I have made the last 4 of these biennial events and have always had a great time! It is a long weekend of fun, food, drink, beach parties and sailing (and more fun). It will be held February 23-25th, 2012.
